Socially Distant, Spiritually Connected
In the last few weeks, the world around us has become unrecognizable. We’re settling into our home offices, students are learning from home and I’m kicking myself for not buying stock in Zoom.
There’s a common theme here. For an organization to thrive in a COVID-19 world, digital communication is key. For the time being, public gatherings are not permitted, so the traditional way of hosting events is not an option. Right now, I’m fortunate to be busy with my friends at The Church at Rancho Bernardo bringing church online.
Incase you’re unfamiliar, The Church at RB is known as the Good Neighbor church of San Diego, California. It’s been a privilege to work with them throughout the years and especially now.
For the last two Sundays, we have produced a 1 hour online program consisting of live worship and a message by Senior Pastor Jared Herd.
I don’t think anyone knows how long we will need to be “socially distant,” but @jaredherd made some brilliant points on how we can stay encouraged:
1. Take a break from social media & the news. Use that time to call someone and check-in on them.
2. Instead of being “childish,” be more “childlike.” Those who are “childish” only care about themselves. Those who are “childlike” will remain calm and peaceful even through the harshest problems.
Until we can all meet again in person, you can catch our weekly services on Sunday mornings on Roku, Apple TV, Facebook and YouTube.
